Josh and Julia - Warrior Dash

Let me just start out by saying that my husband and I  just stayed at a fancy hotel all weekend celebrating our 10 year wedding anniversary.  We did dumb things like swim, went to Cabela’s and to Dave and Buster’s, ate lunch at Ruby Tuesday like we used to when I was in chiropractic school…it was so much fun.  We even got together with a couple in which the husband and my husband were in Iraq together, and us wives spent a lot of time together while our guys were over there.  Good memories.

What does this have to do with Paleo?  Well, my husband follows the Paleo diet 80% of the time.  If we go out for dinner, he orders what he likes, and that is not always Paleo.  It used to bother me, but in practice, I have learned that not everyone is ready to hear what you are preaching!  That includes husbands.  So, I try to make sure I’m not shoving my lifestyle down his throat, although still making my point that I care about his health.  We were riding in the car, and he asked me to help him.  He wants to lose 10-15 lbs before going into surgery at the end of March to have a portion of his rotator cuff repaired.  I was ecstatic.  Literally bouncing in the seat of the car with joy.  I obliged, though I don’t know that he knew how excited I was.  I LIVE for this!

So, I get my meal plans at emeals.com.  This makes my life ridiculously easy.  I usually cook this way, and he usually eats this way.  The only problem is he works at a prison.  Where they serve bread, desserts and other goodies.  Not fair at all.

I’m excited he wants to try to shed some pounds and be healthier.  I’m even more excited that HE ASKED ME TO HELP HIM!  Can you tell I am a C personality?  Can you tell I like to dote on my man?  Nothing makes me feel more fulfilled.  Can you say weird-o?  I love my husband; what can I say?
